NaijaDecide

Privacy notice

Short version: NaijaDecide has no accounts and does not ask for your name, phone number, email or location. Your quiz is scored on your own phone. The only things sent to us are anonymous counts.

Your political views are sensitive personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, so we designed NaijaDecide to avoid collecting anything that could identify you.

What stays on your phone

  • Your quiz answers and result. Kept in your browser only while the tab is open, so a refresh does not lose your progress. Closing the tab or tapping “Start again” deletes them.
  • Your language choice, so the site opens in English or Pidgin next time.
  • A daily token and a note of what you sent today, so you can only be counted once per day.

You can clear all of this at any time by clearing your browser’s data for this site.

What is sent to us, and how it is stored

When you reach your result, and when you send concern tags:

  • Your top-3 topics, if you picked any: each adds 1 to that topic’s total.
  • Your answers: each answer adds 1 to the count for that option on that question. Your answers are never stored together, so nobody, including us, can see anyone’s full set of answers.
  • Concern tags you choose on the statistics page: each adds 1 to that tag’s total for the day.

We do not store IP addresses, names or any identifier with these counts. To enforce “once per day”, we keep a scrambled code for each submission for two days, then delete it. It cannot be linked to your answers.

Error reports

If you report an error, we store what you type, the candidate and question, and any link you add. Please do not include personal details. Reports are private and are deleted after they have been reviewed and the corrections log updated.

Other services

  • Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it handles your IP address to deliver pages; we do not receive or keep it.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a submission comes from a person, not a bot. It loads only when you send something, never when you just browse. It looks at technical signals from your browser to do this. See Cloudflare’s own privacy policy.
  • We use no advertising, no tracking cookies and no social media trackers.

Public statistics

We only publish totals, never anything about one person, and never how many people matched a candidate. A figure appears only once at least 500 people have responded. Statistics stop collecting at 23:59 on 14 January 2027.
